Rayman Legends is a fantastic 2D platformer that truly shines with its vibrant art style and incredibly fluid gameplay. It's a sequel to Rayman Origins, and it takes everything that made its predecessor great and amplifies it. The story kicks off with Rayman, Globox, and the Teensies waking up from a long nap to find their world, the Glade of Dreams, overrun by nightmares. Their friend Murfy wakes them up, and they have to jump into paintings to enter different worlds, rescue the captured Teensies, and bring peace back. The game is full of creativity, offering diverse levels with unique challenges and a joyful soundtrack that will have you humming along. Within this amazing game, the "Toad Story" world is a particularly charming area, clearly inspired by "Jack and the Beanstalk." It's full of giant beanstalks stretching into the sky, misty swamps, and castles floating among the clouds. The level "Altitude Quickness" is a real highlight here. It’s a fast-paced chase where you're climbing up beanstalks and platforms, trying to catch up to a bad guy who’s stolen a Teensy. The controls are so responsive, making every jump and attack feel just right. You’re constantly on the move, with Murfy helping out by cutting ropes or creating gusts of wind to keep you going. Then there's "Altitude Quickness - Invaded." This takes the already exciting "Altitude Quickness" and turns up the heat. It’s a race against the clock, with a strict time limit to rescue three Teensies. What makes it truly challenging is that it’s not just the original level on a timer. Enemies from the "Fiesta de los Muertos" world, like skeletons and spiky snakes, are thrown in, changing the whole dynamic. You have to be super quick and strategic, using your dash attack to zip through the altered level design. It's a tough but incredibly satisfying challenge that really tests your platforming skills and shows off the depth of Rayman Legends' gameplay.
