Episode 29 - No More Road | Kingdom Chronicles | Walkthrough, Gameplay, No Commentary
Kingdom Chronicles
Description
Kingdom Chronicles is a captivating strategy and time-management title developed by Aliasworlds. The game follows the journey of John Brave, a hero who returns from sea to find his homeland devastated by the tyrant Moomrabac. To rescue the King and Princess, players must manage workers, clerks, and warriors across 40 story-driven levels, rebuilding infrastructure and clearing paths through a whimsical fantasy world.
Late in this adventure, players face a significant logistical hurdle in Episode 29, titled "No More Road?". This level introduces a unique environmental puzzle where Trolls have blocked the path with 23 massive boulders. To succeed, the player must clear these obstacles, repair the road, and amass 50 gold before time runs out. The level presents an interesting economic imbalance: while the clearing of boulders provides an abundance of stone, wood is virtually nonexistent. Because wood is essential for construction, the player must rely on a local trader to exchange four stones for six units of wood to stabilize their economy.
Efficiency is paramount to earning a gold medal in this stage. Players begin with a Town Hall staffed by two clerks, but the surrounding cottages are in ruins and must be repaired to generate rent. The optimal strategy requires immediate prioritization: first, construct a farm to ensure a steady food supply, then use the trader to convert initial stone hauls into wood. This wood allows the player to upgrade their worker hut and farm, expanding the labor force necessary to clear the 23 boulders. Once the economy is robust, the player systematically repairs the ruined cottages, creating a consistent flow of gold.
"No More Road?" serves as a brilliant microcosm of the game’s core appeal. It demands that players engage in critical thinking, balancing immediate resource scarcity with long-term infrastructure goals. By transforming the Troll boulders from a physical hindrance into the key to economic prosperity, the level design forces players to master resource conversion. Overcoming these obstacles provides that signature satisfaction found in the best time-management adventures, driving John Brave ever closer to his final confrontation with Moomrabac.
